Power of Attorney

A Power of Attorney is a document signed by one person (usually called the "donor" or the "Principal") giving another person (usually called the ‘attorney’) powers to sign documents on the donor’s behalf and to do such things in relation to his or her affairs as are described specifically (a limited power) or generally (a general power) in the document.

If, for instance, you are buying, selling or mortgaging property in a foreign country, it may be convenient for you to give a Power of Attorney to a person in that country, to deal with the transaction on your behalf. This will save you time travelling abroad, and may help avoid problems affecting a transaction generally. In all cases, you will be required to attend Notary Public to sign a Power of Attorney .

Should you need to give a Power of Attorney in your native or any European language, please contact our team and we will assist you in the process of arrangement of relevant Power of Attorney – i.e. we will translate your document, book an appointment with a Notary Public practicing in your town - Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway, Sligo, Carlow or Waterford and arrange an Apostille stamp.
